Inspections

The frequency of inspections for fire protection systems and equipment in buildings varies based on local regulations, the type of building, and the specific fire protection systems installed.

What is Included?

Visual Inspection

Our fitter would visually check all components of the sprinkler system. This includes sprinkler heads, pipes, valves, and gauges. They would look for signs of damage, corrosion, leaks, or obstructions that could impair the system's functionality.

Sprinkler Heads

We would inspect each sprinkler head to make sure it's free of paint, dust, or other obstructions that could prevent it from operating. Our fitter would also ensure that the sprinkler heads are the correct type for their location and are positioned correctly.

Alarm and Signal Test

Our fitter would test the fire alarms and signal devices connected to the sprinkler system to ensure they are operational and properly communicating with the system.

 Control Valves

All control valves should be in the open position and appropriately sealed or locked. Ourfitter would check for any signs of tampering or incorrect settings.

Water Flow Test

We may conduct water flow tests to ensure that the system discharges water at the correct rate and pressure. This might involve opening test valves to simulate the activation of the system.

Pressure Gauges

Our fitter would inspect the pressure gauges to ensure they are showing the correct pressure for the system and are functioning properly.

Hangers and Seismic Braces

Ensuring that the support structures for the pipes are secure and intact.

Fire Pump

Our fitter would inspect it to ensure it's in good working condition. This includes checking for proper pressure and flow rate, and ensuring the pump engages properly.

Antifreeze and Backflow prevention

If applicable, we would test antifreeze systems for appropriate concentration levels and inspect backflow preventers.

Documentation and Reporting

After the inspection, our fitter would document their findings, noting any deficiencies or required repairs. This report is critical for compliance with local fire codes and insurance requirements.

Recommendations and Scheduling repairs

If any issues are identified, our fitter will recommend appropriate repairs or adjustments and may schedule a follow-up to address these issues.
